Bird Hunt

Canada goose photo Saskatchewan is located in the Central fly zone causing millions of waterfowl to travel through the province. CTO is very fortunate to be located at the north end of the province, giving the clients the first opportunity to harvest the birds during their southbound journey.

The types of geese available are Canada's, Snows, Blues, Speckled Belly, and Ross. The hunters are given the option as to which species they would like to harvest for their morning hunt. The evenings consist of either upland game or duck hunting. The types of ducks available include mallard and pintail.

Decoys are used to lure ducks and geese into dry farm fields where various types of blinds are used to conceal the hunters. Duck hunting may also occur around sloughs. Guides are present during the hunt to assist hunters with calling, safety, and any other aspects of the hunt.

------ THE BIRD HUNT ------

The morning begins with a quick breakfast and clients being transported to the fields that are to be hunted. The guide stays with the group to call, retrieve, and tell clients when to shoot at incoming birds. After the morning hunt is over, the clients enjoy a hearty breakfast and relax for the evening duck or upland bird hunt. Some hunters will also enjoy the afternoon fishing for Northern Pike or Walleye in the many northern lakes.

A new, private 5200 sq. ft. lodge will be ready for the 2007 hunting season!
